Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFT) Supervision Group limited to six participants. EFT is a rapidly growing evidenced based model of Couple therapy that has consistently shown the best outcomes for long lasting, happy, stable marriages. It is a dynamic, experiential, respectful therapy that is rooted in attachment theory and offers 9 systematic steps to taking couples through the course of treatment. It works with all cultures, in many settings, and has been used to successfully treat PTSD, depression and anxiety disorders in a couple format. This closed group is best suited for child and adolescent clinicians who wish to develop their play therapy skills and knowledge base in a self-reflective, supportive group environment. Utilizing case consultation, experiential exercises, and lively discussion, clinicians work collaboratively to contribute to their individual learning goals. An informal, personal interview with Dee is required to determine suitability for the group. This group meets twice per month for two hours on Tuesdays (time TBD depending upon negotiation between new/current group members). The fee is $35 per hour.

It is casual, addressing questions from a broad range of practice settings or even discussing attention getting items from the day’s news. Polly’s book (see website link above) presents the basic curriculum, both nature & nurture, which helps tie what you know to what you do. The group also has down time at the annual “family day” when socializing adds to the mix.

Women’s Ongoing Supervision & Consultation Group. This group addresses individual, couple, family, and group treatment issues from object relations and systemic theoretical and treatment perspectives. Issues of transference, countertransference, projective identification, and other aspects of the use of the self in the therapeutic relationship are stressed. An emphasis is also placed on the treatment of those clients and patients whose identity issues involve numerous ego deficits, especially the Borderline and other Personality Disorders. The cost is $45 per session. This group meets once a month on Thursday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30.

This group is for those therapists that are interested in pursuing their registered play therapy credential or just being able to effectively work with children. There are two groups available. The first group meets on the first and third Monday of every month at 10:00 am and 11:00 am. The second group meets the second and fourth Wednesday of every month at 10:00 am and 11:00 am. Participants can sign up for as few or as many hours per month as they choose. Through a supportive process, the supervision groups will address the models of play therapy, case conceptualization, family play therapy, play therapy skills, ethics, self care, and other clinical issues. The cost for group supervision is $45 per hour.

Mindfulness and Neurobiology are two topics that have been gaining great attention and respect in clinical practice. This supervision group will focus on the understanding and application of both of these fields of study. Each 2½ hour group session will be spent participating in meditation practice, discussing clinical cases and book discussion. Supervision provided in a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. Supervision will be held in Lawrenceville, GA (Gwinnett County). Once you have joined the group, you can attend based on your schedule (but must attend at least 2x per month to remain in the group). Topics may include: ethics, self-care, current cases, licensure test, and any other group needs. Saturdays: 11 am to 2 pm. $80 per group session.
